March: Check out our SESQUICENTENNIAL DISPLAY in the lobby of Wood Library

Thursday, March 7, 2024, 7 PM at Wood Library: Canandaigua Botanical Society Presentation Laura Ouimette will share our history, recent events, and future plans.  This event is free and open to all.  Membership dues and sesquicentennial sponsorships will be accepted at this event.   

Tuesday, March 12, 2024, 7 PM at HWS: Gardening with Native Plants to Deter Invasive Species; Matt Gallo of Finger Lakes Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management (FLPRISM) 

Thursday, March 21, 10 AM at Wood Library:  Sesquicentennial Planning meeting.  All are welcome!

Tuesday, March 26, 2024: Lesser Celandine Dig at Mertensia Park  11 AM - 1 PM.   We will return to Mertensia Park when the invasive lesser celandine is blooming BEFORE it has an opportunity to crowd out the bluebells due to bloom in early May along Mud Creek. Please come the entire time or just for the time your schedule allows. 

Saturday, March 30, 10 AM Spring Ephemeral Walk on Domine Trail, FishersWalk the Domine Trails with Bruce Gilman to see early spring wildflowers.  We will meet in the parking lot behind the fire hall in Fishers at 10 AM.  If you prefer, we will also carpool from the Sly Street parking lot (behind the Ontario County Court House) at 9:30 AM 

Monday, April 8, 3 PM: Solar Eclipse watch party at Sonnenberg PARK, Howell Street, Canandaigua.  We have 30 pairs of CE and ISO approved solar eclipse glasses to distribute. 

Saturday, April 13, 10 AM: Clark Gully walk, Naples, with Emily Debolt and Bruce Gilman.

June 3-7, 2024: FLPRISM Invasive Species Awareness week

FRIDAY, JUNE 7, 2024, 3-8PM: SESQUICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION at ONANDA PARK, Gorham Lodge.  There will be adventures scheduled at 3 PM (explore Barnes Gully or attend a watershed presentation).  Gorham Lodge will be open at 4 with displays and gathering.  Wraps from The Talk of The Town will be served for a light dinner at 6pm.  At 7pm we will have Pam Tichenor and Kim Ferris present a brief review of our past, followed by Bruce Gilman's keynote and a look forward by Laura Ouimette.  Special treasures of a printed program and commemorative Sesquicentennial mugs will be available to all attendees.
