Native Gardens of the Canandaigua Lake House - Monday, June 10 at 10 AM

Meet us at the Canandaigua Lake House on Monday morning, June 10th at 10 AM.  We'll enjoy a tour of the native gardens and landscaping of the Canandaigua Lake House with John Faerber.  Address: 770 S Main St, Canandaigua, NY 14424.

No matter the season, The Lake House offers numerous ways to enhance your stay with our activities and experiences. Use our guest activities section and calendar of events to curate the perfect experience during your stay. At The Lake House we’re dedicated to bringing you the best of the Finger Lakes, including locally-made cheeses and wines, a kitchen garden, landscaping dedicated to native plants, and the best lakefront recreation opportunities.

It was a chilly morning when we met up with John.  What a phenomenal tour which you can also enjoy as John offers garden tours Mondays through Saturdays - no charge!

John has been with the Lake House since 2021.  He manages the gardens and landscaping inside and outside the Lake House including a flower department (guest rooms and weddings) and edible plants for the kitchen and bars.  John values educating others and the artistry of his work.  Symmetry is evident in his creations.  Sod walkways were established in 2022.  There are plans for composting to begin in 2025.  Tulip bulbs are replanted each year with old bulbs going to the "dumpster" (available to the community for the taking).

The greenhouse keeps at a constant 70 degrees.  It has hot water, grow lights and ventalation
