 I went to post signs on the FLCC conservation bulletin board today and then went to see if the skunk cabbage has arrived yet.  Here's what I found:

 













Canandaigua Botanical Society presentation

 The Sonnenberg Garden Club has asked us for a presentation of the Canandaigua Botanical Society.  It will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 11 at Wood Library in Canandaigua.  This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn about, and become a member of, the second oldest botanical club in the USA.  Invite a friend or two.  This event is free and open to the public.

Fantastic Spring Wildflowers at Victor Library with our favorite PLANTMAN!

 Fantastic Spring Wildflowers

Lengthening daylight hours, warmer temperatures, and springtime showers serve as the stimuli for a fantastic display of woodland wildflowers.  In this program, you will be introduced to a wide array of blossoms found in the diverse forests of the Finger Lakes region.  Common perennial plants and lesser known plants will be discussed.  Come ready to learn more about our natural beauties.

Join Bruce Gilman, PhD and Professor Emeritus at Finger Lakes Community College for this informative program.

    Sonnenberg Garden Club has asked us to inform the public about the Canandaigua Botanical Society, USA's Second Oldest Botanical Club.  Learn about our history, our mission, this years events and plans for our 150th Anniversary.  Great time to become a member.  This event is free and open to the public.

Friday, April 28, 2023    1PM at Canandaigua Pier

    The City of Canandaigua, a Tree City USA, invites the public to learn about planting trees at the National Arbor Day celebration. 

Saturday, April 29, 2023    10 AM at Domine Trail in Fishers, NY

   Spring Ephemeral Wildflower walk to enjoy woodland plants bursting with joy for just a short time.  We will meet at the parking lot behind Fishers Fire Station and walk the Auburn Trail to the Domine Trail.  A wander through nearby Fishers Park may also happen afterwards if anyone is interested.  These are wooded trails.  Hiking poles welcome!

Saturday, May 6, 2023      10 AM at Mertensia Park in Farmington, NY

    Join us as we walk among the bluebells and notice other spring ephemeral wildflowers.  We will walk rain or shine, ground may be wet/muddy.  Boots and walking sticks are welcome! Meet us at the Rotary sign near the tennis courts.

   Join us as we dig out invasive lesser celandine where the bluebells grow.  Community service credit for scouts and students can be earned!

Saturday, June 3, 2023    10 AM Ontario Pathways, County Fairgrounds on CR 10, Canandaigua

    We will be helping to celebrate the Ontario Pathways 30th Anniversary as we enjoy the newly installed Eagle project this National Trails Day.  Please park at the Ontario County fairgrounds on CR 10.  We will meet on the trail to the west side of CR 10.

   Please join us as we begin planning for our 150th Anniversary happening in 2024 

Saturday, July 22, 2023  10 AM Burroughs Audubon Nature Club; 301 Railroad Mills Road, Pittsford, NY

   We will meet at the Burroughs Audubon Nature Club, adjacent to Irondequoit Creek, to enjoy a walk through the 30-acre nature sanctuary with trails and a clubhouse. Discover the flora and fauna of midsummer and connect with friends.  You may find yourself joining both organizations sharing similar interests and a wide variety of programs.  Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the walk and before heading out for the afternoon.
