Burroughs Audubon and OCHS Tour of Gardens

NATURE CENTER SANCTUARY
OPEN HOUSE AND NATURE FAMILY NIGHT
301 Railroad Mills Road, Victor, NY  
 
This will be the fourth annual Family Nature Night open to the public at the Sanctuary. Families with children of all ages are invited to join the fun and need not be members to participate. During the Family Night, BANC members will be on hand with displays demonstrating their particular interests. The trails in the Sanctuary will be open to the public for exploring. A scavenger hunt is planned as well as guided walks. There will be displays related to insects, birds, fossils and rocks and minerals. During the evening, nature observation and learning will be celebrated as well as the beauty of our special nature preserve. Come to enjoy or to share your expertise! Directions: Travel north on 332 to Route 96.  Turn right onto 96 and proceed through Victor.  Turn left onto Main Street Fishers (just before the thruway overpass).  Turn right onto Fishers Road and then left onto Railroad Mills Road.  The BANC Sanctuary will be on your right.

TOUR OF GARDENS
  Participate in a self-guided tour of six gardens in the Canandaigua area on a beautiful Saturday in June! Along with the gardens there will be music, art, entertainment, and wine tasting.

Tickets including the 2019 Garden Tour Booklet and map can be purchased beginning June 1st for $20 ($25 day of the event).  Tickets will be available at the Ontario County Historical Society, Renaissance The Goode II Shoppe, Canandaigua national Bank, and online at ochs.org.

Donna Barski, who has a degree in Environmental Studies, is a volunteer naturalist with Buffalo Audubon Society.  She will provide updated news on the current status of monarch butterflies.

Ellen Folts, hortoculturist and owner of Amanda's Native Perrenials, will provide information on how to garden with native wildflowers in order to attract beneficial insects.  She will talk about specific host and nectar plants and provide advice on their cultivation.
