Wildflower walk with Burroughs Audubon Nature Club

WEDNESDAY, MAY 1, 2024 from 10AM to Noon

Burroughs Audubon Nature Club has invited us to a

WILDFLOWER WALK at BREESE PARK, Henrietta

Wednesday, May 1, 2024, 10:00 a.m. – noon
Wildflower Walk
Breese Park, Henrietta
Join naturalists Carol and Dave Southby for a May Day wildflower walk in this relatively new park that is a hidden gem in the western part of Henrietta. Carol and Dave first visited this park last year and were amazed by the number of different wildflowers growing in the woodland here. Flowers included spring beauty and trillium, along with huge carpets of Virginia bluebells (Mertensia) alongside the trail.
The park features a scenic, accessible, level, packed gravel trail along the Genesee River. The total walking distance is about a mile on an out-and-back trail.
Enter the park at 108 Westcombe Park, Henrietta, NY 14467, via a housing tract. Ample parking is available, but there are no restrooms.

Not familiar with Burroughs Audubon Nature Club?  Perhaps a BANC membership is for you!

Wesley Hill walk with Jason Gorman

 THURSDAY, MAY 9, 2004 - 10 AM

Jason Gorman of the Finger Lakes Land Trust will lead us through the Wesley Hill Nature Preserve (6280 Gulick Rd, Naples, NY 14512).  Diverse stands of mature forest, a wide array of wildflowers, and sweeping views of the hills surrounding Honeoye Lake’s southern end make this site truly special.

You may wish to bring a hiking pole.

Let us know if you prefer to carpool from Canandaigua (canandaiguabotanical@gmail.com).  Being a weekday, we will meet at the southeast corner of the large parking lot near the railroad tracks south of Ontario Street and east of Pleasant Street.  Carpool will meet at 9 AM and leave by 9:15 AM.
