Hiking around Huckleberry Bog: Saturday, May 21, 2022

Update 5/21/22: We will not be meeting at Bean Station Road this morning as there were no confirmations of people to attend.  Certainly the trail is open and worth the climb to see the lady slippers and gay wings.  If you go, PLEASE share pictures with us!

On Saturday, May 21, 2022 we invite you to hike UP and around Huckleberry Bog south of Prattsburg.

If you plan to join us, please send an email to canandaiguabotanical@gmail.com   We can arrange carpools or at least know to wait at the trailhead before heading up to the bog.

We will leave Canandaigua by 9 AM in order to start our half mile hike up to the bog at 10 AM.  Some of the trail will likely be wet and a hiking stick or two is a great idea for this journey.  We will be walking about 5 miles.  Please bring water and snacks/lunch.

We will meet at 10 AM on Bean Station Road at the north side of the Finger Lakes Trail that leads to Huckleberry Bog.

Huckleberry Bog has two trailheads with laminated guides to borrow while we are there.  If you wish, you may check the guide out here: Huckleberry Bog Trail Guide

Expect to see:
Lady's slippers

Gay wings

The hugging trees
                                             AND SO MUCH MORE!!!
