Letchworth State Park with Matt Nusstein
Matt Nusstein, Environmental Educator at Letchworth State Park, calls it "a truly remarkable location in the park." Join us as we descend over 120 stairs to get into the canyon near the lower falls to see some of Letchworth's more uncommon cliff dwelling plants. Including the stairs (down and back up) we will cover a round trip of just over 1 mile in distance.
The meeting location would be the Octagon parking area (42.588397, -78.015896) of Lower Falls at Letchworth State Park. There is a $10/vehicle state park fee. If you have a person in the car 62 or older you may enter without a fee on weekdays. Wood Library also has State Park passes to borrow for entry any day of the week.

It was a sunny and hot morning but the haze of the Canadian wildfires did not appear until the following day. Eleven "nature nerds" did well to investigate the plants of the lower falls footbridge trail.

Many of you may be aware of the photo collages Fred Shares on facebook. I had a thought to try to share them here on our weblog. Fred has agreed to share other collages - either on event specific posts or as a separate link from the left column. I hope to add more in the near future.
